AI PHOTO SEARCH

How an AI photo search app could help you find images

A photo gallery can hold years of family pictures, screenshots, saved documents, and everyday moments. An AI photo search app aims to make those images easier to find by letting you describe what you remember instead of opening folders one by one.

Luma is a mobile app concept in development for iPhone and Android. The examples on this page describe the intended product and are not available features yet.

Search by the thing you remember

Traditional gallery search often depends on dates, albums, or labels you added yourself. A visual search experience is intended to let someone start with a simple clue: “show me the photos with the blue sofa,” “find pictures of my dog at the park,” or “pull up the kitchen renovation photos.”

The idea is to search across a personal camera roll using recognizable objects, places, and visual context. Results should make it easy to open the matching original image and confirm it is the right one.

  • Find images by object or scene
  • Narrow results with a place, time, or extra description
  • Organize a gallery with useful categories or tags

How this differs from a photo editor

A photo editor changes how an image looks. Gallery search is about locating an image you already saved. Luma is being planned as a search and organization assistant, not as a filter, retouching, or image-generation app.

That distinction matters when choosing a tool: if you want to remove a background or adjust lighting, look for an editor. If you want to find an old photo without remembering its filename, a gallery search tool is the more relevant idea.

What to consider before using gallery AI

Personal photos can contain sensitive moments and information. Before using any app that analyzes a gallery, check what images are processed, whether they leave the device, how long any data is retained, and how to delete it. Luma is still in development; its final processing and privacy details will be explained before launch.

The examples on this page are product concepts, not results from a working Luma app. The waitlist only collects the information shown on its form and does not access your photo library.

Common questions

Is Luma available for download?

No. Luma is a planned mobile app for iPhone and Android and is not available in either app store yet.

Can an AI photo search app find a sofa or pet in pictures?

That is one of the use cases Luma is being designed to support. The exact search features will need to be confirmed in the released app.

Is Luma a general image editor?

No. The planned focus is finding, categorizing, and asking questions about images already in a phone gallery.
